Her dash grab has the longest range in the game (but not her standing grab), and her down special gives her additional movement options. Welcome to Reddit's finest Smash Bros community! Her side special has two modes (press and hold) that allow you to catch players in unawares.
Watch as Salem takes on Mew2king and they grade the fairly controversial ZSS in Smash Ultimate.Grading Scale:A- Absolutely Main: This character is viable as a solo main in Smash UltimateB- Back Up (secondary): This character is viable in Smash Ultimate, but has more polarizing match ups.C- Counter Pick: This character is only good in specific tournament-relevant match ups or only good on certain counter pick stages.D- Drop the Character: No need to invest any more time into the character.
- YouTube Zero Suit Samus is very good in ultimate in a 1v1 or pvp setting. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. She can juggle and edge-guard quite well. The fact that she is hard to hit allows players to take risk with her in bringing her closer to the opponent to land a good few combos. Her greatest strengths revolve around juggling and forcing out mistak… Her rising SH fair animation is also lower which I think will mean it can hit grounded opponents a lot more reliably and that it will be harder to punish SH rising fAir (still whiffs on shorties though, oh well). How good is Zero Suit Samus looking so far? Not only can her move sets boast speed, but her vulnerability window is relatively short, which makes it hard to land a good shot on her. Samus Aran is my favorite fictional character, but with the general consensus that regular Samus is looking like total horseshit in Ultimate, I was at least hoping that her other self would still be a top-tier character. Stay optimistic about Samus in ultimate. I’d say dw till the game comes out. Is ZSS looking like a solid pick for high-level competitive play and will she be anywhere near as good as in Brawl and SSB4, or will she have a case of "just play Sheik instead" or something like that? Her dsmash looks as if you can't do bullshit early percent kill confirms anymore but it also seems like the stun scales better with percent?
Ultimate. A lot of top players have been making knee jerk reactions on her based on a severe lack of information. https://www.ign.com/wikis/super-smash-bros-ultimate/Zero_Suit_Samus Zero Suit Fight is one of the fastest fighters in the game, only beaten slightly by Captain Falcon in speed. These are just things that are off the top of my head, ultimately point is if you love playing ZSS and don't mind the throw combo playstyle being gone you most likely have nothing to sweat about. I've been a samus main/secondary for all my life, and Ult samus is looking to be one of the better incarnations. Not SSB4 ZSS good but not bad either. I feel like some people may be sleeping on her big time if they think she's been completely broken by the removal of throw combos and still has that shitty up b issue in Smash 4. Her recovery moves double as kill moves … Plasma Whip can actually kill and while not quite as good as it was in Brawl, it's not completely useless.

Click the bell next to the subscribe button to receive instant notifications on all uploads!#SmashBros #SuperSmashBros #SmashBrosUltimate It's too early to say for sure how her changes will add up, but from what I have seen, boost kick does connect a lot better now (Yep even in spite of that top post the other day making a point out of Pichu falling out of boost kick), she has a new foward throw all together that might actually force a tech chase at mid percent, all her aerials (except zair which is unchanged) had their landing lag reduced yes even dair (also hello nair combos), her side b tether is ass now but her zair tether still works (though it sucks we lose a reliable tether recovery without having to face the stage).
The people who played her for her throw combos will probably drop her, but that ultimately has a lot more to do with play style than whether she is actually good. Marss has been dominating tournaments with her, Nairo still brings her out, but is this former top tier worth investing in for the current Super Smash Bros Ultimate meta game? Hopefully she has other things to rely on. Should You Main Zero Suit Samus in Smash Ultimate? I think her and snake got nerfed in the same way but still pretty good. To early to say anything tho man. Probably mid-high to high tier. Yes she lost her throw combos, however she has gained a lot of interesting improvements that may very well change how she is played (again; she was never a throw combo character in Brawl to begin with).
From everything I’ve seen she still seems fine.
Salem seems to think his old Brawl main has potential. She is not looking to good. (not 100% on this).
