DP will have some real targets when they are released! If you are running TinaO as a closer, I think DP is a bit better since you may need to switch it in, and could get stuck on a Snorlax. It is only vulnerable to fighting and ground-type attacks and is resistant to 10 different typ… Giratina’s “Altered” form is actually its original form. And it takes a chunk out of Snorlax. It can go up to … Is the Altered form the ideal form for PvP FYI, Dragon Pulse is not super effective vs Dialga and Shadow Ball is vs Giratina-A, so Shadow Ball would still be preferred there. I typically do the best in Master league where there are fewer mons and I find it easy to deal with the familiarity. DP just has a terrible damage per energy ratio in neutral matches. Another factor long term will be reshiram and zekrom. Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts. The high Defense (for Altered Form) and Stamina (for both Forms) allow Giratina to take significant damage. Master League: 4.5 / 5 Giratina-Altered remains an absolutely massive threat in Master. Although Giratina has five weaknesses, both Ghost and Dragon take increased damage from moves of that same type. That's a big claim but the Temporal Pokemon has everything on paper to live up to that. Their Attack and Defense stats are switched around: Origin has higher attack, while Altered has higher defense. Relatively neutral STAB damage lets it threaten most opponents without worrying about being resisted, however its overall damage output is based on accumulated sustain damage, thanks to its considerable bulk. Consequently, Origin form Giratina has slightly higher CP values. In today's video I'll be testing Giratina Origin against it's self and going over the Legendary lunch hour in Pokemon GO. Firstly, its high max CP is an obvious advantage in the Master League format. The latter is more common in ML so it might come more into play, but the other factor is DP takes a long time to charge relative to both OW and SB and if you’re facing, say, a low-health Dragonite you might rather have the option of quickly firing off an OW. I'm debating which move to use as well. But after the OW nerf, I'm more focused on gaining a counter to the biggest threats Giratina-O faces -- dragon types and Snorlax. There's one key reason Giratina (Origin forme) is preferred over the Altered variant, and that's simply because it has a higher max CP. I didn't do much Giratina raiding, so a lot of rare candy would be involved. My vote would be run it in the back as a closer with DP, get comfortable with the play, as it will become more relevant over time with other legendary releases. For reference, I'm running Dialga (41/15/13/15) with DB/DM/IH, Kyogre (15/15/15) with Wa/Sf/Th, and G-O (14/14/14) with SC/Sh/?. Realistically though, shadowball will be your closing move 90% of the time, DP targets are really only Snorlax, Dragonite, and Garchomp (Dragonite loses the 0shield so +1 for DP, Garchomp wins since Outrage hits harder and sooner). Running in the lead also reduces the odds you end up locked into a Snorlax. Both Forms of Giratina are powerhouses in Ultra League PvP. Gone are the days of losing a switch and watching those mon's tank your ghost moves. Ranked play, world leaderboards, & glory. You can't bait with SB/DP, but you can either force shields or potentially one shot kill Dialga, Dragonite, Giratina-A. Everything you need to know: Giratina-Origin Forme | Pokebattler I absolutely loved OW last season, it was a terrific bait move that sometimes turned the match if you got the buff. In today's video I'll be testing Giratina Origin against it's self and going over the Legendary lunch hour in Pokemon GO. I want to power up some Giratina for the Ultra and Master Leagues, which is a costly endeavour to say the least. It can reach 4,038 CP, the eighth highest in all of Pokemon Go. Much like Giratina Altered Forme in Ultra League, Dialga is the undisputed champ of Master League. OW also seems to suffer from being barely lower energy than SB, making it a poor bait move, while also being the same type as the rest of G-O's moves leaving it prone to walling. OW also gives a lower threat score for my team, which is what gives me more pause. Basically it’s not that OW is good, it’s that you almost never need DP unless Shadow Ball is resisted (Snorlax) or the opponent is a Dragon and you get super effective damage (all dragons but Dialga). The premier competitive Pokémon GO league. Still kinda a bait move, just not quite as good. I think OW is still the way to go if you are running TinaO in the lead. pvpoke has OW as its recommended move, although it appears to only have a narrow win% advantage in no-shield situations - dragon pulse does better in 1 and 2 shields. This season, I tried to put more effort into both Great and Ultra leagues and managed to do decently in Great. I haven't looked into specific matchups that each win, but does the boost chance from OW really make it that much more preferable? Owind is very difficult to run even in preseason, now its almost a no brainer. Can’t speak to it in Master yet but I’ve been running G-O in Ultra and after the nerf I TMed OW to DP for a while only to TM it back because DP got almost no use. Pulse for lax. Secondly, it's dual dragon and steel typing gives it a lot of resistances and few weaknesses. Press J to jump to the feed.
