The Sarawak Cultural Village is an attraction unlike any other I have been to. It’s about those who went to earlier festivals, and left dreaming that one day they will be the ones on stage playing to the audience. Officially launched by Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah on July 12, the 164-page book sounds like a hefty tome but the writing manages to be both light and to-the-point, leaving the spreads of colour photographs to paint their thousand words and dredged up memories of the years I attended. We went for One Day Pass for this event, this is an annual event and is create so much good vibes. What’s left is a complex network of vast and staggeringly beautiful caves that beg to be explored. Music was good and great sound system. Pack light, dress comfy when you attend the festival, it might rain so dont wear anything too transparent (unless you dont mind the attention). I was impressed by their authenticity, did not have the courage to try climbing one of the log-hewn ladders.

At 20 years old, it’s safe to say that RWMF isn’t going anywhere, so drop by and say hi. Noteithstanding all exhibits of the various tribes are available for visitors.
We enjoyed a lot and it will be good if you can spend a day at the nearby resort to enjoy the scenery nearby. Sampled some of the local foods. The cultural show is nice. The noodles coupled with the view and cool breeze made it one of the most memorable meal for the trip. Once it gets dark, the party starts, you can choose to either dance near the stage, perch on some random rocks or bring mats/ foldable chairs and chill nearby. The atmosphere at the festival was really surreal and hippy-like. You will be able to try lots of local delicacies and I must say Kuching people are a friendly bunch! This unique event is also featured in many international publications around the world and voted as one of the top 25 music festivals in the world to attend.
