Love Ronnie Chieng. You were getting tired of it by the end, but your favourite part was the end? The community is about helping Asians make sense out of their own life experiences, find a supportive like-minded community, and live the best possible life. I’ve watched it twice now and I fucking love this guy. (Although I guess that doesn’t really turn out too well with the protests and all).
Sam Tallent is the funniest comic I know, a belief that is shared by the top 20 or so people he beat out on that list.
I just hope he puts out some more stuff, just really insightful and funny and fresh. Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts. I really enjoyed how polished the routine was in regards to how well he called back to the previous material for the night.
He needs to better read the room. An Asian with a backbone. Can see why Bill Burr helped produce it. He makes you think... which is the kind of standup I like. Yeah same, the few people that make me laugh are Ricky and Jimmy... i guess it's true what they say about british people being funny? Still miss Jon. It's fine, but he desperately needs to learn some pacing. Watched it last night and found it hilarious and clever. We serve the Asian diaspora living anywhere in the West. He did speak fast at times which made his delivery feel a little rushed.
Tbf I never really liked him in daily show so not surprised. If you're a comic it's about the future you think you want, but don't; if you're a fan, it's about the side of comedy you've never seen; if you just like good books, it's certainly one of those. It was kind of a chore getting to the end. By using our Services or clicking I agree, you agree to our use of cookies. There's too many comedians around who just think that saying things by doing some weird act is funny, just look at how they flail around saying unfunny stuff. Not sure why. Press J to jump to the feed. Even Australia has a different culture and comedy (timing etc). Like I love to see more of Kevin, is it worth watching the daily show again though? However I decided to give it another go and found it thoroughly enjoyable and funny. I liked it A LOT. r/Standup: For standup comics, from open micers to theater acts, to ask questions, answer questions, present material, coordinate shows, bitch about … I'm so sick of every comedian talking about that shit. https://open.spotify.com/track/3wzXgjZZzizNNnH4V2NwEv?si=YuUCcsYXSQ25ykF88DtX9g. As a fan of his contributions to The Daily Show, I enjoyed it quite a bit.
I laughed at a lot of it. Yeah the song is called 夜来香 literally "evening coming fragrance".
His Foreign Student show in Comedy Central was great. I thought it was really funny and especially impressive considering he hasn't been doing "American" comedy too long.
Ronnie has that angry comedy similar to Bill. Press J to jump to the feed. nothing wrong with setting the bar high but I agree with you he has to have all that to compete with people who have less, New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast, More posts from the aznidentity community. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. I’m pretty critical of stand up comedy but the special really appealed to me. Every fucking show now it’s ridiculous. It's the name of a Chinese flower. I enjoyed it. Press J to jump to the feed.
That old traditional Chinese one? First I’ve ever heard of him, didn’t like Trevor so jumped ship then, and man I watched it DAILY for years. What does everyone here think about Netflix's new comedy special "Ronny Chieng - Asian Comedian Destroys America!"? Just usually you get one good Netflix special and then that’s the last stand up you’ll ever see cause they moved on to podcasts. I was pretty impressed.
I enjoyed his short performances at various talk shows (a few bit he repeated in the Netflix performance). I really enjoyed his critiques of American wastefulness (napkins, excess packaging, etc. He has serious pacing issues. Yeah, there were a few bits where the Laughs Per Minute dropped off a lot. Saw his taping in Glendale and it was hilarious! Cookies help us deliver our Services. We emphasize our Asian identity, not to be used as pawns by the Right or Left.

As a fan of his contributions to The Daily Show, I enjoyed it quite a bit. ), as well as his material about the subway and his 3 weddings. I hadn't finished it but so far it's pretty fucken shit. But all in all, an excellent special of well crafted & delivered jokes. He wrote a novel called Running the Light that you should read. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast, More posts from the StandUpComedy community. But anyways this special was great and I can’t believe no one has done the motto bit before ! I saw him live with this material and LOVED it. thought it was pretty good! No awareness at all, Thought it was hysterical honestly , trying to find more of his stuff. Multiple degrees and post graduates. The worst parts was when he literally yelled and became angry to try to play out his tone issues joke, Also the three weddings joke was a drag though the ending part of it saved skit, The 1st quarter of his show was top notch though, Just stop yelling/showing your anger in full force ... take it easy. I guess I relate to a lot of it because my wife's Chinese and I used to live in Melbourne, Australia. The most active Asian-American community on the web. Especially the dietary requirement joke. Different event, exact same Kanye West joke note-for-note. Just watched it. Cookies help us deliver our Services. although I have never liked his stuff. I could feel the awkwardness of the audience through my tv. You could tell he worked really hard at it and the all the material seemed finely tuned.
Was kinda excited that another Asian made it on netflix like Ali Wong, gave it 10 mins, gave it another 10 mins, and I just couldn't finish it. So glad he didn't talk about "political correctness".
Does anyone know the song in the opening and outro? Not a fan. Parts of it dragged, but it was great overall.
Has that Bill Burr type annoyed-with-the-world kind of delivery, which is probably why Bill helped produce the special. It was refreshing to hear new topics and I found the Asian American perspective on things hilarious. Unlike the other turd of a human whos only joke is his micropenis. Never heard of him before. Kinda disappointed. But I think he drags each premise or subject too long.
