I literally felt sick to my stomach the entire book and every time I got done reading a bit I just felt so depressed. The abuse lasts for years and years.

I realize this is early A.D. Rome but yikes! This author participates in the Readers' Favorite Book Donation Program, which was created to help nonprofit and charitable organizations (schools, libraries, convalescent homes, soldier donation programs, etc.) The setting is 3rd century Rome. If you want to see the bad guy get his just desserts, it won't happen here. Tiger’s Blood by Elizabeth Morris is the first volume in a new series that explores the world of Bloods—a breed of people who are half-animal and half-human shapeshifters. Just sayin'.

While there is description of the gladiators and animals slaughtering each other, there is also innocent, forbidden love between the princess and a slave. Peter also knows how to treat her mother well, never demeaning like her husband. Although purely fiction, I could see this happening in Rome when the Ceasars ruled. This is a cool cover illustration. Kira was a unique White Tiger Blood, who was ready to kill. I would never stay with someone who did that." its about theas 2 tiger cubs and there taken in to rome and the empires doughtier gets one and his name is Boots and the othr one is named Brout and he is at the coliseum and he is going to fighting others to eat them and much more if such a good book.

Initially, in the first part of the book, I found her writing to be difficult to believe and, therefore, difficult to get into. I felt so badly for he. years. But this book has a unique perspective.

One thing that annoyed me and caused me to give it such a low rating, was the babbling that her father did; the ranting and raving, and philosophizing. I hate to be this harsh, if anything I'm inclined to tiptoe around this issue, but I will admit I had high expectations for this book and they were not met. This book shows not just what happened but how it was allowed to happen. On the other hand, the subject matter is frankly disturbing and I would feel wrong about giving it five stars. The author did a great job with getting emotions out of me, making me invest in the story and look forward to Kira’s triumphs against Andrew. Although written for youth, the author did not sugar-coat the brutality of the "circus." Tiger!

Well, reading this book will make you remember that. And the way she represents, so accurately, the anguish of a girlhood made neurotic by a secret life -- ugh, it's brilliant. This memoir is certainly about a fucked up relationship, but doesn't easily fit into the category of a child abuse memoir. Their interactions with each other feel natural.
