And as far as people getting mad about the "I want to fight the baby" part, I for one replace the word fight with wrestle, for my peace of mind lol. It's cute rhythmic pattern flows, as the story shows a gathering of relatives of various ages that focus their attention on the baby.
I like books to relfect as many races as possible. My two year old loves it, and after owning this book for almost a month, he can already "read" it from front to back. This book was a bit long to keep the attention of my one year old but it's a great book nonetheless and I look forward to revisiting this read in the future. Love, Love, LOVE this book. This book is filled with so much love and written in a way that children want to hear it again and again. Got for my son, already started reading it to him at 2months ( he has fabulous concentration) and enjoys watching me flick through - reading is a wonderful thing even starting early I believe is great, get your kids interested in books early on in life, dont wait till schools about to start! What's the point of introducing the concept of fighting, even play fighting? This book is definitely a great back to school present!
My 4yo son and I love this so much - it is impossible to read without the excitement building up and lots of hugs with your own baby. It shows how relatives often interact with and talk to babies in an exaggerated fashion. It's unfortunate that they chose to use fighting as one of the verbs (when the cousin comes over to play).
